We have a need for Lectors, and so are asking anyone who might be interested to contact Fr. Isaac personally about it, so that he can get you set up to do that.
We are also inviting anyone interested to come to the church this Saturday, February 23 at 10:00 a.m. We will go over some tips and pointers about what is considered appropriate and good when it comes to the public reading of Scripture, especially within the worship service.
For instance, it is good to be prepared and to have read the readings through privately and out loud, before doing them publicly. You want to be sure to use a clear and loud enough tone, and you don’t want to slur your words. These are some examples of some things we will go over, along with connecting being a Lector with one’s spiritual life and worship.
If you cannot come on Saturday, it is okay. You DO NOT have to come to this to be a Lector. Fr. Isaac would be glad to go over some of this with you one on one. We do apologize for the short notice of the meeting, but the need came up, and we thought we would try to coincide this with our Acolyte training which is earlier in the morning.
We do want to thank you all who already volunteer in so many ways in our church, and we are grateful for all those who the Lord might move to help and serve in various ways in the month to come.
